Falling Winter

Winter is the coldest season of the year in temperate climate between autumn and spring. This year, it is not officially winter until December 21, 2010. Believe it or not. =)

Though it was -32 at this time, with a bunch of snow, the touch of fall is still visible. So a better name to call this time of the year is, falling winter. =)

Daylight

A promise of tomorrow.

Subconscious

Ten long years have passed and yet you never left my subconscious mind.
In deep sleep, you came and hold my hand again.
Far away, I hear you calling my name..
My heart never seemed to forget you,
      though I tried to bury your memory down the lane.
I might still be searching for forever, because deep within
      it's still you, and you again.
This could be all but just a dream.
Maybe we are to dream..
Or maybe we're meant to be.

One in a Million

There is always that one in a million, who will stand out amongst the rest. And then you'll forget about everything else. =)

Surreal

Have you ever been on a phantasmagorical scenery where everything seems so perfect and tranquil?! In where you felt like it's a dream.. I did. =)

Silhouette

To emphasize a scene, a silhouette could be in the background, an outline.. a featureless interior.

This is celebrating sunrise in a small town in Saskatchewan. Captured around 6am on a Fall season.

Autumn in Saltcoats

Saltcoats is a small town in Saskatchewan, Canada, about 500 in human population. This is where I first started my nursing career here in Canada. Being a small town, it offers a family-like relationship which I will always be thankful for wherever I go. =)

A shot of Saltcoats, Saskatchewan during FALL season.

Trees

I think that I shall never see
A poem lovely as a tree.
A tree whose hungry mouth is prest
Against the earth's sweet flowing breast;
A tree that looks at God all day,
And lifts her leafy arms to pray;
A tree that may in Summer wear
A nest of robins in her hair;
Upon whose bosom snow has lain;
Who intimately lives with rain.
Poems are made by fools like me,
But only God can make a tree.

FALL Foliage

Autumn leaf color is a phenomenon that affects the normally green leaves of many deciduous trees and shrubs by which they take on, during a few weeks in the autumn season, one or many colors that range from red to yellow. The phenomenon is commonly called fall colors and autumn colors, while the expression fall foliage usually connotes the viewing of a tree or forest whose leaves have undergone the change. In some areas of Canada and the United States, "leaf peeping" tourism between the beginning of color changes and the onset of leaf fall, or scheduled in hope of coinciding with that period, is a major contribution to economic activity.

FALL Photography

Fall only comes once a year, not in every country, and in Canada especially Saskatchewan, you'd be lucky to experience autumn longer than two months. So once it's there, take advantage of it. =)

Few things I love about autumn besides the just perfect breeze of cold air, is the beauty that comes with it. It is filled with love and artistry. The colors are full of emotions, no matter the silence. And having Fall as my favorite season, I couldn't help and be fascinated by it, thus putting it in still. :)

What I love about Fall Photography is that you need not do much post-process. The bright colors are already in your RAW photo initially, you just have to enhance it. There is also not much noise because the exposure is shorter because you are using natural light. I also made good used of my CPL filter upon doing my Fall shots.

And lastly, the best thing about Fall Photography for me, is that it speaks of certain emotions that I find hard to put into words. It is good as saying listen to the photos, as I am speaking silently. :)))

Rock and Colors

A view on highway AB 93 South on way to Jasper National Park, combining the chaste color of the rockies and plush shade of autumn. Artlessly A-OK!!! =)

Canadian Rockies

This is what Canada is famous for, the Canadian Rockies. :) Drove 8.5 hours from Yorkton, Saskatchewan to Edmonton, Alberta. From there we had to drive 3 - 4 more hours to go to the Jasper. On the way would be all these Rockies that would make all the driving worthwhile. :) It is indeed the best long drive I ever had and I would definitely come back next year. The temperature around that time was between +4 to +8, almost ready for winter, but if you would dress up in layer, this wouldn't be too much of a problem. So now, let's enjoy The Rockies =D

The Canadian Rockies comprise the Canadian segment of the North American Rocky Mountains range. They are the eastern part of the Canadian Cordillera, extending from the Interior Plains of Alberta to the Rocky Mountain Trench of British Columbia. The southern end borders Idaho and Montana of the USA. The northern end is at the Liard River in northern British Columbia.
The Canadian Rockies have numerous high peaks and ranges, such as Mount Robson (3,954 metres (12,972 ft)) and Mount Columbia (3,747 metres (12,293 ft)). The Canadian Rockies are composed of shale and limestone (unlike their American cousins). Much of the range is protected by parks and a World Heritage Site.

The Afterglow

An afterglow is a broad high arch of whitish or rosy light appearing in the sky due to very fine particles of dust suspended in the high regions of the atmosphere. An afterglow may appear above the highest clouds in the hour of deepening twilight, or reflected from the high snowfields in mountain regions long after sunset. The particles produce a scattering effect upon the component parts of white light.

Taken in York Lake, Saskatchewan. This might be one of the few shots that I have left for Fall season as it is now beginning to get freezy getting ready for winter.

His Imminent Grace

Crescent Lake, Saltcoats Saskatchewan. You wil never get tired of taking it's photo especially on fall. :)
The leaves are yellow, the water is blue, and the sky is just a reflection of God's imminent grace. :)
